Youth Sailing at Queen's Harbour began in the fall of 2014 as "Sail Queen's Harbour" and was a stand-alone program for adults and youth sponsored by the Queen's Harbour Yacht Club. The Sailing Club had it's own membership apart from the yacht club and provided classes and events for its members.
In 2016, Sail Queeen's Harbour became integrated with the yacht Club granting all Yacht Club members access to the boats and equipment now owned directly by the Club. Club members do have to pass a sailing test to use the boats.
Also in 2016, a new youth membership was established allowing non-resident youth to participate in the Club's Youth Programs.
Youth programs now include After school sailing, Summer Camps, sail Racing , and outing. The Youth Sailing Program also participates in an annual Trick or Treat regatta and Lighted Boat Parade.
To participate in the Youth Sailing Program, all participants must join the Yacht Club membership at some level (for insurance purposes). Membership starts at less then $100 per year!
The Youth Sailing Program is managed by Capt. Jack Feeney, Director of Sailing.
